Hand-Crafted Quality Biodegradable Urn - Scattering Urn

  • Fabricated by hand from recycled and earth-friendly materials
  • Biodegrades naturally in water
  • Engineered to float for approximately five minutes before descending gracefully
  • TSA-compliant for "in-cabin" airline transportation

Biodegradable Water Burial
The Journey Earthurn is perfect for water burial. It is engineered to float for 3 to 5 minutes before gracefully descending. Once on the ocean floor it will break down naturally.

Biodegradable Ground Burial
Journey Earthurns are fabricated by hand from recycled and eco-friendly paper which breaks down naturally" when buried. They are durable, with no "shelf life" and will NOT begin to biodegrade until they are buried in the ground. Each Earthurn included an EPA-approved, biodegradable plastic bag.

Scattering
Journey Earthurns are perfect for scattering. They open easily to facilitate the scattering process. Families that plan on purchasing a Journey Earthurn for scattering over water should be advised to remove the biodegradable bag with the cremated remains from the urn and place only the bag in the water. The bag will dissolve, dispersing the cremated remains, and the Earthurn can be kept for the storage of personal mementos. Each urn is handmade and may vary slightly in appearance.

The Environment
Earthurns are manufactured with the environment in mind. The tree bark used to make the paper is harvested from the mulberry tree in such a way that the tree continues to grow, undamaged. This sustainable process is centuries old and ensures the preservation of ancient forests.
Once the bark of the tree is harvested, it is soaked until soft and then laid out on to bamboo screens where floral materials are inlaid by hand. The screens are then placed in the sun to dry. The resulting paper is used to make beautiful and environmentally-friendly urns.

Urn

My family and I appreciated the quality of the urn. My husband who loved the water will have his ashes set in the ocean. I feel that this product has a class appropriate for this occassion. I had viewd tubes offered at the funeral home and they lacked class .

Thank you for a quality product that is so hard to shop for.

Journey Cremation Urn

Reviewed By: Paulette Thompson on 05/17/2011

This is perfect for what I planned for my ashes. I wanted my daughter to spread my ashes on the Pacific Ocean but she and I both feared the wind might blow my ashes back on her, so because my ashes will be sealed inside this urn, there'll be no chance of that happening. The color is such a pretty blue and the urn will travel well on the flight out west. I'm so happy I found this urn!

A FITTING MEMORIAL

A wonderful product which provided a touching visual memorial to my late wife. The boat captain was so impressed with this product that he stated he wanted one, so I provided him with the needed information. Thanks for providing the public with alternative means to fulfill last wishes.

alternative to scattering

With my mom's burial at sea, I was looking for another way to place her in the ocean that did not run any risk of making the event into a bad memory. this clever box worked just fine, and gently drifted at sea for 6 minutes then disappeared.

Perfect

Reviewed By: Cheryl on 10/24/2010

This biodegradable urn was perfect. The urn did exactly what the company promised. It held our loved one, then slowly dissolved into the water. It made for a very peaceful memorial.
As a financial plus, it was 70% less than the crematorium.

Highly Recommend

I was completely unaware that such a product existed until a friend suggested that I find one online. It was just as I expected and it did exactly as expected once released in the water. We pasted a starfish on the top to give it a personalized touch.

The urn was nice but it took over 20 minutes to sink out of sight; not the 5-6 minutes as stated on your web site.

I purchased the Aqua Earthurn so we could fulfill my mom's wishes and be buried at the beach. The Urn was beautiful and well made. The Urn floated in the ocean for a few minutes then disappeared. It was a nice ending to our private family memorial. I highly recommend Perfect Memorials Earthurn.

Thank you

Excellent Product

Reviewed By: Kathryn on 09/23/2011

We used the Aqua Journey Urn to send my mother's ashes into a body of water she loved. It worked exactly as described floating for a bit and then gently sinking. We attached a stem of her favorite flower which made a lovely farewell as the urn drifted off in the current. We were very pleased that we had chosen this way to disperse her ashes. The urn is sturdy, opens easily and is very attractive.
