About Black Granite Burial Markers

When you're looking for beautiful and affordable granite grave markers, you'll find exactly what you need at Perfect Memorials. We offer a range of burial markers crafted from the highest quality polished black granite and etched using the latest high power laser technology. Perfect Memorials offers free ground delivery directly to your cemetery and will also help you through the entire process.

Unlike a traditional headstone that sits above a grave, black granite grave markers rest flush with the ground. Not all cemeteries accept all types of burial markers, so make sure that you know all of the rules and regulations before you choose your stone. Flat granite markers are common in many cemeteries, but ask for a written list of guidelines before you order. Many cemeteries have specific regulations about size, material, color, types of edges, any images on the stone, and more. Before you order any type of burial marker, make sure it meets these guidelines.

Size Options

The black granite grave markers from Perfect Memorials are available in four different sizes, although all are 4 inches thick. Your options are as follows:

  • Single – 16" x 8"
  • Standard – 20" x 10"
  • Deluxe – 24" x 12"
  • Double – 30" x 12"

These markers are thick and durable, weighing between 65 and 155 lbs., depending on the size. Please note that we offer free ground delivery directly to your cemetery, if you choose.

Customization Options

No matter which size you choose, these granite memorial stones are typically designed to include a limited amount of information: the deceased person's full name, date of birth, and date of passing. This text will be arranged on the marker by our skilled graphics team so that it looks its best.

Many granite grave markers also can include an engraved photo of the deceased and/or engraved artwork, such as woodland scene, a lighthouse, or hands in prayer. If there is space for a photo, we can use a color or black and white image that shows the subject's entire head and body, down to the chest. All photos will be returned with your finished marker.

If you have any questions about images or personalization, or if you're not sure if our markers will meet your cemetery's guidelines, please call our customer service professionals at 1-800-979-8767. We are happy to work with you to provide any additional information that you may need to ensure that our granite markers meet your needs. Our team will also e-mail you an engraving example to review for accuracy before the marker is completed.

How to select the right size urn

Enter in an approximate weight of your loved one before cremation and we will tell you the size needed.

Choosing the right size urn

Try finding an urn with our easy cremation urn finder.

Choosing the right size urn is easy. For every one pound before cremation you will need 1 cubic inch of volume. For example, a loved one weighing 200 pounds will need an urn that is at least 200 cubic inches or larger. Choosing an urn larger then you need is OK.
