4 Strange Ways to Memorialize Yourself

Death is becoming a huge industry with the baby boomer population aging. Many people are looking for new ways to memorialize themselves and do something that is different from what is expected. Here are the four strangest ways that people have chosen to memorialize themselves.

1. Buried in Furniture- There are several companies that are starting to create furniture caskets so that you can have your casket while it also functions as a piece of furniture. Pool tables, bookcases, coffee tables, and couches are some of the most common pieces that have been requested. These are all designed to be functional while not in use, however, once the body is buried, you lose your piece of furniture you have used for years.

2. Vinyl Records- Music lovers are taking their love to an all-new level by having their cremated ashes turned into a vinyl record. The ashes are compressed into 30 vinyl records that will be recorded with 24 minutes of your song choices, a final message to friends and family, or complete silence.

3. Eaten by Mushrooms- Biodegradable funeral caskets and funerary ash containers are becoming very popular with everyone trying to go green. Instead of simply being placed in the ground in a biodegradable casket, consider being placed in a mushroom body suit containing mushroom spores and other mushroom nutrients that they will feed on while decomposing your body.

4. Personalized Urns- Many people want to have a personal tough to their final resting place, and when they choose a personal urn such as a cast of your head or any other type of personalization you may think of. These strange personal urns are ideal for people that love things bordering on the strange.

These ways may sound unconventional and weird to some, but some may find them interesting. But the bottom-line remains that people are still being remembered.
