[...] A lot of people, many of my friends included, think that Navy Pier is a cheesy tourist trap. Taken in small doses, it actually is a fun and low-budget outing for us. From our place, we walked the nearly two miles through the city to the Pier. It was a hot night with a tinge of breeze. Holding hands, walking through the city’s vibrant nightlife areas, somehow makes us feel very close and happy to be alive. Once on the Pier, we headed for the Beer Garden where there was a live band and, once again, prime people watching: families, couples of all ages, bachelorette parties and the chatter of foreign languages. The piece de resistance for me on Navy Pier is the fireworks choreographed to music. When I die, I want to be sent up in fireworks. I once thought this was an original idea, but going out with a boom actually is a business now. [...]

This ROCKS! Having recently been to a funeral and wanting my memorial to be a celebration of how my life is lived - funny, random, happy, smiling - I don't want my memorial service to be stoic. I thought of cremation fireworks and KNEW there had to be a website devoted to it and here you are! This will definitely be the way I want to be remembered - seeing that I doubt the fire marshall will allow me to be pushed out into the lake and started on fire like the Vikings did.

This is the perfect way to go to heaven and not grieve but celebrate!! I have always wanted to do this, and now that I have a heart condition and am up in age, I plan on doing it this way. I live on the water in East Fl. and already have my will to do just that. What better way? People see fireworks and they equate them to celabrations. New Years, 4 of July, Labor Day, you get the message. Passing on should not be sad but the release of pain and suffering on earth.. My mortician says we won't need anything bigger than a pepsi bottle and a bottle rocket. I made up my mind to do it this way years ago in the onset of cancer. Have wanted to be cremated not buried since I was about 8 years old. I have always wanted to go out with a bang, so you might as well make it beautiful and peaceful so everyone who is witness to it will never forget the vision. Thank you for making this wish possible. God bless you and yours.
