The Star Spangled Banner deisgn orignates from September 14, 1814 where a flag with 15 stars and 15 stripes was flown over Baltimore's Fort McHenry during a victory against the British. After the battle, Francis Scott Key saw the American Flag still flying and composed a poem, "The Star Spangled Banner," which has since become the national anthem.
