This Supernova Heart Stone keepsake cremation urn is a traditional way to keep a small portion of your loved one's cremains in your possession and a memory close to your heart. This urn has a bottom-opening screw in plug to insert the cremains. Due to the nature of marble, patterns and colors will vary with each cremation urn.

Optional Engraving
An optional engraving can be done in either a script or block style font. Engraving can be up to 3 lines. The sentiment can be up to 25 characters, name can be up to 15 characters, and the date can be up to 11 characters. Engraving will be done on the front of the heart keepsake.

Why choose engraving?
Engraving your memorial helps to permanently identify the urn. Personalization helps make the memorial for your loved one personal and unique. Some cemetaries can require direct engraving for identifcation purposes. In the incident of being misplaced or lost the engraving can help return the memorial back to it's proper location.

How long will engraving take?
Our engraving is done extremely fast by our skilled engravers. If a ground order is placed before 12:00pm Central Standard Time the urn is generally engraved and shipped the same business day. For expedited or rush orders we make every effort possible to ship same day even after 12:00pm. We encourage calling our customer care line at 1-800-979-8767 if rush engraving is needed after 12:00pm so we can make special arrangements for you.

Did not want to be handling my husband's cremains

Reviewed By: Jennifer on 07/29/2017

I ordered five of these cute little stone hearts: one for my husband's parents and one for each of our four children. Perfect Memorials was helpful with the engraving process, even when I changed my mind about what I wanted engraved on the urns to be given to my children. They arrived in a timely manner. The stone is solid and the engraving as I expected. But...

I took the urns to the Funeral home that handled my husband's cremation to be filled, because I wanted absolutely nothing to do with funneling my husbands earthly remains into tiny heart shaped vessels. When I returned to collect "Bruce", the funeral director commented about how he "wouldn't buy those hearts again. If I was selling them here I would pull them from my inventory. But as long as they are just sitting on a shelf they should be OK." Now he had me wondering what he was talking about. I lifted the lid on one of the fancy cardboard boxes they came in and everything looked alright. Little did I know the horrors that awaited...

When I arrived home I decided to see how the heart set on the Metal Display Stand (Part PM17416 It didn't but that is a separate review.) I removed one of the Supernova Heart Stone Keepsake Cremation Urn's from its satiny lined fitted cardboard box and was ... surprised... no shocked to find a small pile of grey dust in the bottom of the box. I sat and stared at the small pile of Bruce lying there on cheap satin like fabric. What now? It is a small amount, the funeral home will just laugh at me if I ask them to take care of it, I can't dump it, I can't leave it. I checked the bottom of the urn. The "bottom-opening screw in plug to insert the cremains" was a PLASTIC screw and there was a 2-3 millimeter gap on one side between the screw and the hole in the bottom of the stone heart. I put the whole mess back in its box and looked at the next heart. There was even more Bruce in the bottom of that box! I was beginning to panic.... the next, more Bruce. All five boxes had my dear husband's cremains drifting around the bottom of the box like sand infiltrating your car after a trip to the beach.

Not only was I faced with the problem of getting Bruce back into one of the urns, I needed a way to insure my children wouldn't be dusted by Daddy every time they picked one of these up. So I got ready. My supplies: artist's paint brush, plastic spoon, tiny funnel (rolled up paper will work), large fathead screw driver, superglue, glue gun, scissors, adhesive felt, a boat load of courage, all the children asleep and nerves of steel. Now I was ready?

The steps:
1. Remove all heart urns from their boxes and place face down on your work surface.
2. Use artist's brush to carefully sweep Bruce from all of the boxes into one of the "satin" lined cardboard boxes.
3. Use the screwdriver to remove the PLASTIC plug from one of the Heart Stone Cremation Urns.
4. Carefully scoop your husband up with a plastic spoon and transfer him into the urn. Replace the PLASTIC plug when finished.
5. Carefully put a small amount of superglue around each PLASTIC plug so that it can not be opened.
6. Use the hot glue gun to fill the gap between the plug and the opening in the stone. (I also smoothed glue around the plug and across the screw head to further insure that the heart remained closed and secure in the future.)
7. Trace and cut a new felt bottom for the urn from the adhesive felt.

I am now confident that my young children can touch the memorial urns I purchased for them to remember their father without being showered by their father.

The urn is lovely and very solid. Does not feel cheap and was exactly as described. This was my first time ordering from Perfect Memorials and I am very happy with the product and ease of ordering.
