About Angel Urns
For many people, the idea that angels are watching over us and our loved ones is a comfort during times of sorrow. With angel urns from Perfect Memorials, you can have a figurine or image of an angel right on the urn itself. Choose from many different styles of urns, including those made from marble, bronze, wood, cultured marble, and stone.
Angel Urn Styles
Many different types of angel urns for ashes are available, from figurines to traditional urns with angels engraved on them, to cremation boxes or chests with photo images. Urns that are in the shapes of angels or that include an angel figure are often made of cold cast resin or polystone, materials that allow for exquisite detailing without the heavy weight of stone urns. Some angel cremation urns are made with marble or other cultured materials. Weeping angels are a popular style, as are serene, praying angels. Whichever style you choose, you'll receive a beautiful urn that's made with care.
If you choose traditional vases or box-shaped angel urns for ashes, they may be made of brass, resin, wood, or another material. The angel is often added as a three-dimensional relief, giving the urn additional texture. On some angel cremation urns, an image will be engraved, or a photo will be permanently adhered to the surface. This allows for a wide variety of angel images to be used to decorate the urn.
Choosing an Angel Urn
When you select your angel urn, make sure that the container is large enough to hold all the ashes that you wish to store inside it. Angel urns for human ashes come in a variety of sizes, from large companion urns to small keepsake urns, so knowing the volume of the cremains that you need to store and the size of the urn is important. As a general rule, you'll need 1 cubic inch of volume for each pound of weight before cremation. This means that a 150-pound individual will need an urn with a volume of at least 150 cubic inches. If in doubt, it's best to err on the side of caution and get a bigger urn than you think you might need.
Personalizing Your Angel Cremation Urn
Most angel urns can be personalized with the name of the deceased, the dates of birth and death, and additional text in some cases. The method of personalization depends on the urn style. Often, the text can be engraved directly onto the urn or onto a metal plaque that will be attached to the urn. If the urn itself cannot be engraved, you may want to consider a plaque that you can keep with the urn.
