Personalized Garden Stone Engraving
While all of our personalized memorial stones can be engraved, the amount of text and any additional engraving you can add will depend on the size and shape of the rock itself. Small river rocks, for example, may only have enough room for a brief line of text, up to 8 characters, and a small piece of engraved art from our collection. If you need space for more text, consider a large, flat stone, such as granite or bluestone. These larger stones can often hold up to 4 lines of text, with each line between 22 and 26 characters long.
It's important to remember that you don't need to use up all of the engraving space available to you. Our experienced engravers will carefully lay out the text on the garden stone so that it looks its best. If you have space for 4 lines and include only 3, for example, the artist may make the text slightly larger to still fit appropriately.
You'll also have several options of font for your engraved memorial garden stones, although which fonts are available will depend on the particular product. Your options may include Helvetica, Park Avenue, Times New Roman, Cloister, and others. Check out examples of these fonts on each product page.
In addition to text, many of our personalized garden stones have space for a small piece of art from our collection. There is a small additional charge for artwork, in most cases, and the amount will vary depending on if you choose from our standard or premium collection.
Enter in an approximate weight of your loved one before cremation and we will tell you the size needed.
Try finding an urn with our easy cremation urn finder.
Choosing the right size urn is easy. For every one pound before cremation you will need 1 cubic inch of volume. For example, a loved one weighing 200 pounds will need an urn that is at least 200 cubic inches or larger. Choosing an urn larger then you need is OK.
